This is very short trekking trip for the people who don’t have enough time to explore the nature in Nepal. This trek will is short offbeat trek in the wild west of Nepal that brings the travelers to untouched regions of Nepal and allows them to explore the nomadic lifestyle that still prevails in few parts of the country. At the meantime, excursion around the biggest lake in Nepal, Rara can a wonder tour in itself that has so many beautiful stuffs for your eyes and camera. Moreover, the trails from Jumla to Rara that wind through the isolated mountainous hamlets and extreme wilderness of sub-tropical woodlands caters a fascinating trekking adventure. Overall the trip will be enjoyable and can have a good experience of nature tour.

The trail follows the Tila River. On our hike to Padmara we will be passing through fields, pine forest, spruce, and firs.


Urthu (2530m) - Khali (3685m)

Ascent/Descent : 1155m Ascent Kms : 10kms Duration : 5-6hrs

The trail ascends up the Grushni river valley and will be arriving Padmara. We will follow the forest trail and go over 3,642m pass and arrive Khali Lagna.


Khali (3685m) – Naurey Ghat (2755m)

The trail follows through the forest all the way to Naurey Ghat.


Naurey Ghat (2755m) – Chautha (2807m)

We will walk by the river for 1.5 hour. Then we will climb uphill for 1.5 hours until we reach the top of a village. One hour gentle walk through the village and then 45 minutes downhill to Chautha.


Chautha (2807m) – Pina (2440m)

The trail ascends all the way through the forest until we reach Bulbule. In Bulbule we will have to purchase the Rara Conservation entry permit. After having lunch at Bulbule we will continue to walk uphill until we reach Ghucchi pass (3446m) where we will see good mountain views of Chankeli and Patrachi. From here we can also see Tibet border. After the pass, we will follow a steep descend to Pina village. Pina is the largest village along this trekking route and is very scenic.


Pina (2440m) – Majhghat (2900m)

We start with a gradual walk for thirty minutes through the terraces followed by uphill. Then we walk through the fields and then climb for 30 minutes until we reach Jhyari. EWN has a small project in Jhyare and have built a community hall for the locals to hold meetings and carry other activities. Then slowly we will climb gradual uphill for two hours to reach day's destiny Rara Lake


Majhghat (2900m) - Talcha (2982m)

We start the day with a gradual walk around Rara lake and climb uphill to Murma. If the weather is clear, we will have great views of the mountains, Rara lake, and the national park. We will follow the same route back to Rara Lake. Gradual hike along the lake for 1.5hrs reach at Talchha (2700m). We will climb uphill for an hour through the forest until we reach the Thakurji temple. After the temple, the trail follows downhill all the way to Talchha.


Talcha (2982m) - Nepalgunj (150m)

Half an hour flight from Talcha reaches us to Nepalgunj.



We provide bagpacks, crampons, and maps. Price Includes: Guide, assistants, 3 meals per day, afternoon tea & snacks, accommodation for the duration of the trek(2 persons per room).

However, during high season one room per two clients may not be always available. If this should happen we request our clients to be flexible and share a triple or room with four beds. Annapurna Park entry and TIMS fees, staff insurance, transport to and from the trailhead, two nights' accommodation pre and post the trek and a complimentary massage after the trek from Seeing Hands, a blind organization. (proud to introduce one of our product) and can supply 75 liters backpack for the main trekking stuff, light crampons, gaiters and trekking map.

Assistant - (maximum weight to carry is 10 kg for female assistant guide and 13 kg for male assistant guide).

Jumla Rara Trip

Jumla Rara Humanitarian trek is in the remote wilderness of west Nepal, offering a superb experience of nature and unusual glimpses of a culture and scenery quite different from that found elsewhere in Nepal.

This beautiful high altitude lake is sorrunded by alpine meadows full of flowers and forests of pine, juniper and spruce. In the background you can view the magnificentsnow-capped peaks of the Himalayas ont their reflection in the lake. The region is made up of long ridges covered with temperate forests and alpine pastures enclosing high valleys.
