Remote wilderness If you long for remote wilderness, pristine beauty, peace and tranquillity, this is the trek for you. Feeling like the first adventurers to Nepal you will ascend to isolated high ridges that offer spectacular views of Machcapuchare, Annapurna Range, Lamjung Himal and Dhaulagiri. This trek is suitable for the moderately fit.
An hour drive takes us to the starting point: the small village of Kande. Then 2 hours steep climb to our first destination, Australian Camp (2000 m) where we arrive by early afternoon for lunch. A 2hrs gentle walk from Dhampus, Pothana reach to Pitam Deurali (2100m).
The trail takes us deep into greenery of mountain oak, birch, rhododendron and hemlock. Today destination is Forest Camp (2550 m).
Today is steady gentle climbing with only small sections in isolated parts. After an hour walk we stop for a short tea break at rest camp to enjoy the fishtail view. Gentle walk through the forest take us to Low Camp where we can have lunch. After lunch we can walk 2 hours further steep up take us to our destination Badal Danda (3200m). Where we can view close view of Fishtail, Hinchuli, and Annapurna South and also this place is famous for sunrise and sunset.
Today we make our way to the highest camping point on the ridge (3900 m). We leave the forest behind and reach the meadows with grazing sheep. Again the views are breathtaking as we can see the widespread Gurung villages and follow the trail up to Annapurna Base Camp.
In the morning we climb to the highest point of our trek (4200 m) – the crest of Mardi Himal. The great ice fields and the blue glaciers of the Sanctuary Wall lie below and we are encircled by a dozen or more glistening mountain giants. We descend to Lower Camp again after lunch as this part of the mountains doesn’t invite an overnight stay
After the exhilaration of the previous day we slowly make the descent through shady forest to Siding village. (1700 m). Home stay.
We follow a gentle meandering path along the contour of the river valley. We gradually descend between pastures and through Gurung villages. We spend the night in Lwang, home stay (1400 m).
Today we leave the mountains behind us. We make our way to Milan Chowk where vehicles wait to take us back to the relaxing Lakeside of Pokhara.
