About one hour before the pass – at Shiva-tsal – we can leave an article of clothing of any other part of ourselves (drop of blood, piece of hair) as part of leaving our past life behind us. We can enjoy a rest at the Drolma pass and see other pilgrims pass and perform their rituals. Our 'new life' starts after the pass! On the right side of the downhill path, there is a small lake called Thuje Lake, meaning compassionate lake. We steeply descend downhill with rocky path all the way to the valley for about 2hrs and can have some refreshments at the teahouse. . We continue for another two hours (gentle walking) and reach our camping site along the small river.
