Yuksom is an old capital of Sikkim. Geyzing is a favorite with trekkers due to the high elevations, mountain views, a magnificent view of Kangchenjunga (8598m) and wild flowers. :- Today is the first day of the trek. We will start trekking from Yuksum to Bakhim (17km, around 8 hrs walk,altitude 2740 m).In the beginning it goes along the river Rathong Choo /Prek Chu, Medi Khola etc, through the forest. We will cross three rivers over the suspense bridges. In spring we walk through flowers, it seems that some body have covered this area with a multi color carpet. Every thing looks fresh, beautiful flowers bloom out from the earth to show their presence. We spend the night in this secluded spot. Overnight camp (B/L/D)
Today we will be depending on the weather and acclimatization to decide about today journey. Our aim will be to reach a small settlement Tshoka (3050m), or go even farther uphill. A small temple along the route visited by Nepalese believers can be seen. The distance is about 2 km (around 1 to 2 hrs walk) from Bakhim to Tsokha, not very long one, but we need to gradually acclimate to the altitude. Overnight camp (B/L/D)
continue our hike to Dzongri (9km, around 7 hrs trek, 4100 m altitude). We walk in the northwest direction and soon will have a splendid view of the complete Kangchenjunga. It is such an impressive mountain giant of rock and ice. We will have lunch at Phittang (3660M) and further from there the path leads us through magnificent forests. Our eyes keep on wandering over to the steep ridges while we pass. Sometimes if the weather conditions are not so good, it can also snow here, but usually the temperatures are warm. Today we walk towards Thangsing (about 8kms, 6 hrs walk). First, we cross a ridge height of about 4200m and then climb steeply towards Mt. Pandim. We are located at the foot of the summit Jopine peak (5953m) and Pandim (6708m). In the afternoon we walk a bit further up the valley Thangsing, which is our campsite. Here we see a magnificent view of the nearby mountains. In evening there is still some time for a little more acclimatization to the Jopine slopes of the mountain peak overlooking the huge Kangchenjunga. We stay at Thansing for the night (3900m). To go uptill the Goecha La we need to begin our day at early morning, around 6km away which takes around 5 hrs of trek to pass Goecha La (4940m), is the culmination of our sporting trek. Over a narrow path towards the pass, where we can get a magnificent view of Kangchenjunga (8598m). After an extensive rest and photo break we walk again to our campsite at Lake Simiti, back again 6 kms ( around 3 hrs trek) and then further 6 Kms (around 3 hrs trek) to Thansing camping for over night. Those who prefer to relax and do not wish to go upto Goecha La can stay in the camp till lunch time. After that we leave altogether with the team which had gone to the pass , towards our tonight’s camp while hiking down. We stay at Thansing for the night (3900m). Overnight camp (B/L/D)
The full-day trail leads through beautiful forest; the path is also bordered by beautiful flowers. In spring, we can see around 10 different species of flowers blooming here see. If we are lucky enough we night see a variety of exotic birds, butterflies and orchids. Today we trek around 17 kms which will take around 8 hrs trek. Overnight Tsokha where we have already stayed while going up. Overnight camp (B/L/D)
