MARSYANGDI – THE RAGING RIVER 

Enjoy one of the best rafting and kayaking rivers in the world. Continuous, exhilarating whitewater combined with magnificent mountain backdrops make this trip an adventure of a lifetime. Recommended for those who are ready for a challenge or those with previous rafting experience. This trip is ideal for combining with travel between Kathmandu and Pokhara or with going on Safari at the Chitwan National Park.

Lower Marsyangdi 1-Day Trip – All Year

River Grade: 4                                  
Departs from: Lakeside Pokhara or Kantipath in Kathmandu or Sunauli or Chitwan.
Departure Time: 7 am
Put In: Paundi (4hr by private bus from Pokhara, 5hrs from Kathmandu, 4hrs from Chitwan)
Take Out: Turture (2hrs by bus to Pokhara, 4hrs to Kathmandu and 2hrs to Chitwan)
Returns to: Lakeside Pokhara or Kantipath in Kathmandu or Sunauli or Chitwan
Return Time: 6 pm to Pokhara & Chitwan, 7 pm to Kathmandu
Meals: 1 x lunch
Baggage: You can bring whatever you want on this trip as we will have our own road support for the day!
Included: Raft Guides, Safety Kayakers, Support Staff, Rafting equipment, inc. CE-rated helmet and buoyancy aid, Spray Jacket, Wetsuits if required, Lunch, Transportation to and from the river, Waterproof ‘Pelican’ boxes & Dry Bags
Excluded: Insurance, Additional snacks, Alcoholic drinks, Optional tips for guides

 Trip Details

Depart at 7 am and drive to Paundi close to the start of the famous Annapurna Trekking Circuit. We start our journey with a comprehensive safety demonstration and instruction on different paddling techniques before hitting the exciting grade 4 rapids of the lower Marsyangdi. After lunch beside the river, we continue running the rapids and take our adventure downriver to our take-out point at Turture.

Upper Marsyangdi 2 Day Trip – Feb to May and Oct to Dec

River Grade: -5
Departs from: Lakeside Pokhara or Kantipath in Kathmandu or Sunauli or Chitwan
Put In: Bhulbhule (5hr by private bus from Pokhara, 6hrs from Kathmandu, 5hrs from Chitwan)
Take Out: Turture (2hrs by bus to Pokhara, 4hrs to Kathmandu and 2hrs to Chitwan)
Returns to: Lakeside Pokhara or Kantipath in Kathmandu or Sunauli or Chitwan
Accommodation: 1-night tented beach camp
Meals: 2 x lunch, 1 x dinner, 1 x breakfast
Baggage: You can bring whatever you want on this trip as we will have our own road support throughout the trip!

Trip Details

Depart Pokhara or Kathmandu at 7 am and drive to BhulBhule high in the mountains on the famous Annapurna Trekking Circuit. We start our journey with a comprehensive safety demonstration and instruction on different paddling techniques before hitting the wild rapids of the upper Marsyangdi including ‘Mama’s Big Butt’ (+4) ‘Good Morning’ (-5) and Shark’s Tooth (+4). Our day ends at the new dam at Phaliya Sangu where we travel by bus to our riverside campsite at Paundi. The next day we head straight into a continuous series of excellent grade 4 Rapids. After lunch beside the river, we continue our adventure downriver to our take-out point at Turture.

Guide Team is trained to international standards in Safety and First Aid and holds current Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and WRT qualifications!
