The Gokyo Lake is the world’s highest freshwater lake system comprising of surrounding six main lakes, The Gokyo Ri (5357m) is a black rock to climb steeply up but with a rewarding view at the top with a panoramic view of Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche with the Ngozumpa Glacier. From here, you can clearly see that Mount Everest is the highest of all, Renjo La (5350m) have a beautiful view of Ngozumpa Glacier and the sawtooth peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cholatse, Taboche, Makalu and the Cho La. We fly with a small twin-engine unit to Lukla (2840m), We start the trek with a descent to Ghat (2490m) in the valley of the Dudh Kosi (Milk River). Then we continue to Phakding (2610m) our first night place. Hiking Hours: 2/3
A 600m steep uphill ascent from Monjo to Namche Bazaar. At Monjo we enter the Sagarmatha National Park. We see Thamserku (6608m) towering high above us. Following the Dudh Kosi for the fifth, and now last time, to be crossed, we get a tough final climb high above the river to Namche Bazaar. With clear vision in the distance, we can see Mount Everest and Lhotse. We stay in a comfortable lodge in Namche Bazaar (3440m). If we just go up in the direction of the military camp and go just around the corner, we can see Everest and the Ama Dablam. Namche Bazaar is a real commercial city, on the Saturdays there is still the famous market and many lodge owners come to buy their supplies. Hiking Hours: 4/5
We stay one day because of acclimatization in Namche Bazaar, we make a short hike with views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam and the Everest. We just go around the corner in the direction of Kyangjuma (3550m) where we have a lunch and for getting used to the altitude. Hiking Hours: 4/5
2/3 hours side trip to Syangboche for acclimatization from Namche Bazaar. The way from Namche Bazaar to Syangboche is filled with amazing views and adventures. You can admire the beautiful views of the glorious mountains including Mount Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. As you head uphill towards Syangboche, you can experience a wide range of the lifestyle, culture and religion of the Sherpa people in the region. Starting from chortens and prayer wheels along with monasteries dating back centuries. If you go a bit of further up, we can see the amazing green pasture land with the yaks and sheep’s grazing, a peaceful and relaxing sight. Hiking hours: 4/5
From Namche, the wide and scenic beautiful trail continues to Kyangjuma village (3550m). The trail is perched on a rocky mountain high above the gorge of Dudh Kosi. The incredible views of Thamserku, Kongde, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Mt. Everest from the trail goes along to Kyangjuma. The trail ascents towards to Mong La Pass (3972m). The trail descends to Dudh Kosi river and continues to Phortse Thenga (3675m). Hiking Hours: 5
Ahead of Phortse Thenga, the trail goes out of the valley. Then trail passes under the shades of Rhododendron, Juniper and Coniferous trees. Green pastures along the trail are the graze lands for Yaks. The trail goes to Dole (4110m), then the trail takes a steep climb through Lhabarma and Luza, the trail is very scenic and peaceful. The trail continues to Machhermo (4470m), where we can view of Mt. Thamserku. The trail takes an ascent to a scenic ridge. The traverse through the narrow valley towards the widening valley. The trail meets Phangga and then goes down to the riverbank of Dudh Kosi. Then the trail becomes steeper while you climb to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. Along the trail, there is the first Gokyo Lake. Gokyo, a beautiful small village situated on the shore of the Gokyo Third Lake. Hiking Hours: 6
Steep climb the Gokyo Ri first. The Gokyo Ri (5357m) is pretty much like Kala Patthar, a black rock to climb but with a rewarding view at the top. It will take around 2 hours to climb all the way to the summit and you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche with the Ngozumpa Glacier. Gokyo Lake III, Cho La pass (the glacier), and Mount Everest from afar. From here, you can clearly see that Mount Everest is the highest among all, something you can't really tell when you are up close, look up. One hour easy down to Gokyo and spend the rest of the day. The first lake is Thonak Tsho (4870m), steely grey pool surrounded by enormous boulders and patches of ice. The easiest trail from here is to follow the base of the hill to the left all the way to firth lake, Ngo-Zumpa Tsho (4990m). On the edge of the moraine to the east is a small hill, known as Scoundrel's view point (5000m) which offer fine view of Cho Oyu and the upper Ngo-Zumpa glacier. Be careful not to get too close to the crumbling moraine overhand. Hiking hours: 5
The path climbs gently along the flank of Gokyo Ri and then zigzags precariously up a finger of grey scree above the northwest corner of the lake, crossing the ridge of the pyramid-shaped peak. From Renjo La (5350m) we have a beautiful view of Ngozumpa Glacier and the sawtooth peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cholatse, Taboche, Makalu and the Cho La. The main attraction of Gokyo Renjo la pass trek is its remoteness and breath-taking world highest mountain's scenery, Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri, world's longest glacier, diversified landscape, flora and fauna, unique verities of Sherpa culture, typical mountain villages and monasteries along with great adventurous Renjo La. After crossing the pass, the trail winds a staircase of huge stone slabs, the drops steeply to the south bank of Angladumba Tsho. A wide and obvious dirt path drops below the lake along the north side of the valley. After crossing the Relama Tsho, before swinging round into the sandy valley of the Rinjo Khola. The final steep descent to Lumde (4380m) follows a narrow valley clogged with giant boulders. Hiking Hours: 6
At first 40 minutes downhill walk to Marulung (4210m) on the east bank of the Bhote Kosi. Below Marulung cross the western side of Bhote Kosi and descent for 40minutes to Taranga. It's a gentle stroll down the valley to reach Thambuten village and the 350 years old Yaro Kerok Gumpa, From the Chorten at the bottom of the village it's a short ascent over the moraine to Thame (3800m). Hiking hours: 3
This is the last day of walking. We leave the national park at Monjo and cross the Dudh Kosi again four times. After Phakding we descent to Ghat, from where we have some ups and downs. A final climb brings us to Lukla airport and we can finally take off our shoes and dance along with our staff at the goodbye party. Hiking Hours: 5
