Manaslu trek is remote and spectacular, with rough steep tracks and limited accommodation.
It is culturally fascinating with strong continuing links to Tibet. The Larkya La (5,100m) as an exciting challenge and
the close views of Mt Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world, are breathtaking.
We start walking gentle uphill trail through the forest. Along the way we will encounter lots of donkey passing the trail and gorgeous waterfalls. We will reach Lapubeshi after walking for 2 ½ hours and it will take us another 2 hours to reach Machi Khola (our lunch stop). We will walk along the riverside of Budi gandaki. Walking hours: 6
We reach Tatopani (Hot spring) on the way and cross a bridge over the budi gandaki river. It is a gentle uphill and downhill walk until Dovan. Dovan is a small village with a few schools. After walking for 1 ½ hour from Dovan we will reach a cliff where we should be very careful as there are rocks falling out. After crossing a bridge we will arrive Jagat. Jagat is a restricted area where we can entry our special permit. It is a small village where different ethnic group suvh as Gurung, Shahi, Chhetri and Thakuri lives. Walking hours: 6/5
After breakfast we will slowly make a gentle climb uphill for 1.5 hrs. We will cross a long bridge over the Budi Gandaki river. After 30 minutes steep climbing we will reach Philim (1570m). After this climb, the trail is gentle scenic views on the other side, including waterfall, mountain view, pine forests and a few villages. We will have lunch in Pewa (1800m). After lunch we will hike for an house passing by Mani walls. We will have views of Sringi Himal). Walking hours: 6
After 20 minutes of gradual walk through the bridge, we will ascent steep uphill to Bhi Phedi for 2hrs. After Bhi Phedi we will descend down to the bridge, then we will walk gradual walk upto Ghap (2200m). We can stop for the lunch either Ghap or an hour further in the forest hotel. After lunch we can continue 3-2hrs further by crossing the bridge climbing steep stairs uphill through the forest. We will see a nature made bridge from a big stone. If we are lucky we might even see different wild animals, mountain views crossing by Gurung villages to our destiny Namrung (2630m). Walking hours: 6-7
We will either walk to Birendra lake or to the Manasulu view point (from here we can have a close view of the mountains) or we can walk to Manaslu Base Camp (where we can see Birendra Lake and Manaslu view point). Carrying a packed lunch is recommended. Walking hours: 5-6
Today will be a gentle walk. Walking slowly and drinking enough water is highly recommended. Before Samdo village we will climb steep uphill for 20 mins. After lunch we will do side trip to Samdo view point to Acclimatize. Walking hours: 4
Today we will be walking slowly. It is a slow steep up. We will see Manaslu mountain, blue sheep and wild animals on the way through Dharmsala. Dharmasala is not a village but has a basic tea house for the trekkers. Walking hours: 5
Today we start walking very early at 4am in the morning. We will walk slowly gradual uphill to Larka pass for 4 hours. We will carry pack lunch. After the pass we have to be careful as we will walk steep zigzag down as the trail is slippery. While walking down we recommend to support each other. After 4 hours we will reach Bhimtang. Walking hours: 9
Today, we will walk downhill through the river. Along the way we will see beautiful view of mountains. We will stop at Surki khola for lunch and walk down to Dharapani. We will cross Marsyandi river and enter the Annapurna region. Walking hours: 7
At the end of our trek from Dharapani – Besisahar can take a local jeep. 4hrs bumpy jeep ride take us to Besisahar where we can stop for lunch. We will take another 4-5hrs jeep drive on the good road either to Pokhara or Kathmandu. Driving hours: 8-9
We provide bagpacks, crampons, and maps. Price Includes: Guide, assistants, 3 meals per day, afternoon tea & snacks, accommodation for the duration of the trek(2 persons per room).
However, during high season one room per two clients may not be always available. If this should happen we request our clients to be flexible and share a triple or room with four beds. Annapurna Park entry and TIMS fees, staff insurance, transport to and from the trailhead, two nights' accommodation pre and post the trek in Pokhara and can supply 75 liters backpack for the main trekking stuff, light crampons, gaiters and trekking map.
