Rich in culture, nature and remoteness. This special and newly developed rural trek is an 'off the beaten track' and enables close contact with several indigenou groups. One of them is the Pun-Magar ethnic group who have their own language, culture and customs. This trek offers you a variety of accommodation, ranging from staying with local families, lodges and community-run lodges specifically built to encourage eco-tourism in this remote area. You will have the great opportunity to experience rural life in the villages of Nepal.
An hour and half drive takes us to Nayapul ~ the starting point of our trek. From here we take the West-Northward path and cross a suspension bridge over the Modi river. We walk through Deupur village. The trail is gently uphill until we reach Purna Gaun where we spend our first night.
From Lespar, we climb steep hills and forests, all the way up to Nangi village. Nangi village is a beautiful and famous village. It is well known for its Wireless Internet Service introduced by Mr. Mahabir Pun who received the Magasese International Award. Lespar has a Higher Secondary school, telephone facilities and a Nepalese brown paper factory which you can visit if you wish to. The Dhaulagiri Mountain range is visible from the village.
After enjoying the sunrise and magnificent mountain views, we start our journey slowly by walking downhill through a trail surrounded by rhododendron, pine, oak and Juniper trees. We will hear and see various species of birds on our way to the very famous view point of Poonhill. We will then continue down to Ghorepani for about an hour.
An early climb to the summit of Poon Hill (3200 m) to watch the sunrise across a magnificent Himalayan panorama. After breakfast we them continue through forest of Rhododendron and reach Ulleri. Then after lunch we can continue to complete our last day’s journey, Nayapul (1070 m) leaving the mountains behind us and completing our 7 day trek.
